Story-telling is as old as mankind, and everyone likes a good story. But there are other reasons to write your biography or family history. If you tell it now, the story lives on for those you love and those who love you.

This letter was written to Jean Buckley, of Peachland, BC, after The Story Company (a division of Rosetta Projects) helped her to write and publish her life story:

Hi Grandma,
Thank you for the book – I picked it up and haven't been able to put it down. I just finished reading it today and have been fascinated by your life and story. I cried at the part about Granddad dying – it was very emotional for me. I can't thank you enough for sharing your life. It is a treasure and the best gift you could have ever given us. I have much to learn from your life. I am and will always be deeply touched. I love that I can pass this on to my children as a heritage of your history.

How do you write a book?

Getting a book written and printed is easier than it used to be. We’ll come alongside and help you collect, organize and edit your journals, letters and photos. If most of your memories are unwritten, an experienced interviewer and writer will help you record them. The digital recordings are transcribed and incorporated into your biography.
